Once a year, The Cradle of Humankind is inundated with a bunch of genuine biking enthusiasts. No, no, I don’t mean road cyclists (I have very little time for them) I mean real bikers. The men (and woman) of the Vintage Motorcycle Club, who partake in the annual Century Run, where the combined age of the bike and rider, needs to exceed 100 years. It’s a grand sight to see (not so much the riders, sorry guys) but the gathering of running veteran, vintage and classic bikes. Machines from before you or I were born, in fact, in my case from the same time as my grandparents were born.
If you have an interest in good old machines, it’s well worth a visit.
(And if you are a serious vintage fan, I suggest you take a cloth to wipe away the drool)
It happens this year on the 6th of April at Something Country in Muldersdrift. The bikes should start arriving from about 9am onwards.

Very good. We used to go and look at all the vintage bikes when they left Durban for Joeys. What a long time ago! I wonder if they still do that run…
Looks like they do still do it Wendy, and you just missed it. http://www.classicmotorcycleclub.co.za/djrun.htm or http://www.djrun.co.za/index.html
Awesome – all those oldies! They had real classical lines (the bikes, that is).
You sure the bikers don’t have classical lines? 😉
In 2015 the run will be held on April 19th.
